I'm on the fence on this one. On one end I think the show broke boundaries in the TV industry and was truly a well-written show/book, but on the other, I fear it's target audience could choose to take from the show the "fucked up" message that the writers obviously aren't trying to get across to us. With all the attention it's getting and how trendy this show has become it scares me how it attracts very young, very impressionable teenage girls. The way I see Hannah, as the writers have explained, is that she is a flawed character. She goes through a lot of shitty situations; she makes poor decisions that escalate; she blames everyone around her; she becomes suicidal, and let's not forget that she's still a teenage girl who's not perfect. Much needed emphasis on that. Though she is the leading role, she's definitely not the heroine. Everyone knows that. And that's why everyone is scared outta their minds that there are 15-yo-girls out...
